False and wrong descriptions and copies
Erroneous description of Yatrides' paintings during Auction sales.
These Paintings are not oils but watercolours on canvas stretched on frame.
These false descriptions could intend to abuse the not informed modest collectors, and more, to manipulate the art market.
On the about six hundred and seventy (670) paintings he created, more than for hundred and fifty (around 450) are oils on canvas (about 360 sold in Europe, the rest being in Yatrides' possession). About eighty (80) are distempers/canvas and some rare ‘a tempera'/canvas. Around one hundred and thirty or one hundred and forty (130-140) are watercolours pigments on canvas
During Yatrides' contracts with S.E. Johnson's International Galleries (Chicago) 1955 - 1972, were sent to these galleries watercolours on canvasses stretched on frame. As below, most of them are coming from collectors of S.E. Johnson:

Note 1: Recorded in the headings of auction sales, “Animated landscape with the cypresses” is an erroneous title which is substituted for the title authenticating the original: “The painter and his model” which is an oil work realized on Lefranc paperboard standard .
Note 2: ‘Young Turkish' woman (dated 1958) is a false picture.
International Registers in art service as AskArt and ArtNET, amended their web pages.. Auctioneers were informed about the above content.

Yatrides' eleven (11) periods :
Fauve (1945/1948) – Abstract (1948/1951) – Breaking off (1951/1955) – Initial Graphics (1957/1962) – Fundamental Graphics (1963-1971) – Its own period personal school : Apodictic Way one (1971/1982) – Apodictic Way two (1983/1987) – First Synthesis period (1945/1986) - Second Period (1987/2011) and Last Synthesis period (1945/2011) – Antagone, genuine line, source of all sciences (2013/2015).
Note : Other wrong descriptions on web concern his work ; confusion between an original work and reproductions : for ex. confusion operated between lithography and posters offset ; confusion between ink drawings and strong engravings (copper plating or etching) ; confusion between crayon-sketches and soft engravings (woodcutting), plus others processes more rudimentary, well known.
Many of its Watercolours/canvas are mono or two colors (camaïeux in French), or with rarely more than three colors. Sometimes they include deep different greenish pigments which result from stressed mixing of two complementary colors : no greys obtained with blacks mixed with whites ;In these last cases, they would be fake realizations.
